Programs and Activities

Kaleidoscope Experience will offer an 8 week workshop developing creativity skills, color choices, and individual guidance to produce a work of art.

Each client will benefit with Kaleidoscope Experience's program by developing a shared experience, new communicating techniques and giving access to a broader community satisfaction, providing a positive dynamic participation utilizing art and technology.

Programs take place at pre-selected sites –- each program is geared with special features to reinforce sensory awareness, to develop self confidence and making choices to encourage self expression.

Each special needs community will benefit with Kaleidoscope Experience, constructing a shared group and individual experience – through a new communication process that articulates self expression that will develop parallel competences for life skills.

Providing a positive dynamic experience utilizing a framework of art and technology participation in a broader community understanding.

The workshop will be facilitated by art consultant Christine Fye who has extensive background in this community, who established the central theme of academy award winning feature length documentary Best Boy and is a internationally recognized fine artist. Christine will provide training to develop internship opportunities for youth to serve as art mentors and provide a resource manual to be available for organizations and groups interested in this process.

Special Art works will be exhibited at Princeton University A.R.T. Gallery

Kaleidoscope Community Experience, is a series of workshops an inclusive grassroots community driven series of workshops to engage youth to develop art skills and encourage creativity a process that articulates self expression and develop parallel talents for life skills.

Do you remember the excitement you felt when you put your eye on the end of the tube of a kaleidoscope, closed one eye and escaped into the magic world of changing shards of colored glass that somehow reflected into a million patterns as they changed and changed and changed when you moved the bottom of the tube around and never seemed to repeat a pattern, and in those moments we became one with a magic universe!

Kaleidoscope Experience, in the practical world wants to re-create the excitement you felt when you were engrossed in the magic that was in the tube, we are going to introduce you to lots of exciting programs that as a whole will reflect a pattern made up from small pieces, when we put it all together it will be a connected patterns of exciting information for you to use in your art programs, your day to day activities, its about thinking in a new way, instead of thinking of seeing life through a tube we will be looking at our world as an exciting new and expanded colorful place, the flowers and trees, our sky, our sea and the people and animals who live in our world with us and around us, people who are different, some live their lives in a wheelchair, some don't see things the way we do or have some of the things we have, or we don't have some of the things they have. So, we can exchange ideas and learn that although we are different, we are all the same.

All these differences make up the Kaleidoscope Experience and as we get to know about the differences in the way we live and view the world we will see how the Kaleidoscope Experience works and how the patterns take shape to make our vision of a world rich in diversity becoming a sharing and rewarding experience. We will make new friends and exchange ideas and experiences about our daily lives, our dreams and plans for a peaceful future and we will share our art works, as a very special way of explaining our world to each other.

Kaleidoscope Experience and La Perla Garden Community Center & Workshop, will create a physical and virtual space to produce art work and crafts for sale in a neighborhood store and an on line webshop, enabling us to create a sustainable income for the youth in the community and to encourage individual expression and entrepreneurial skills.

Remembering the influence of the garden, reaching out like the tendrils of the vine, we will extend an all inclusive hand to our brothers and sisters in the community, reach out to the Five Villages in the Bo District of Sierra Leone, to exchange ideas, skills and stories, that creates an extended community of brother and sisterhood. To strengthen the human experience. Keeping in mind that we are all the same but uniquely different because of our kaleidoscope experience.
